Exercise 6: Target touch shoulder, ear, nose and forehead (without compensatory movements)

This is a good exercise for improving functional arm and hand coordination. This exercise should be done in your wheelchair. Make sure you’re seated in a stable position. Try to touch different parts of your torso (the shoulder) and head (ear, nose, forehead), stretching your arm upwards as far as possible. Your movements should be smooth and controlled. Stop as soon as you notice you are making compensatory movements with your neck, shoulder or torso, for example, by raising your shoulder or leaning sideways.
