Exercise 1: Hand mobility

This is a good exercise for strengthening the muscles in the hands and improving fine motor skills.
If you wish, you can do this exercise with a towel, facecloth, tissue or sheet of paper.
This exercise should be done in your wheelchair.
Sit at a table or use the wheelchair tray.
Spread, stretch, close and flex the fingers of both hands.
Perform these actions gently but to the fullest extent possible
You can vary this exercise by scrunching up a towel, facecloth, tissue or sheet of paper and then smoothing it out again.
