This exercise will help improve neck stability and strengthen the neck muscles. This exercise should be done in your wheelchair. Make sure you’re seated in a stable position. If you can, keep your head away from the headrest. Alternate nodding and shaking your head. Move your head as far as you can to the left and right, and bring your chin as close to your chest as you can. Your movements should be slow and controlled. If you struggle to hold your head up, use the headrest for support. This is still a good way of working the muscles. The focus will then be on activating the muscles in the neck and keeping them mobile.
