Sitting control
A simple exercise to train sitting and head control. The exercise is aimed at young children from about the age of 1, but can also be used by older individuals if sitting needs to be trained. For this exercise, a soft surface is required.
Description
Place the child on the floor on a reasonably soft mat. If the surface is too soft it can be difficult for the child to achieve the right sitting balance. If the surface is too hard, the child can hurt herself/himself if she/he loses her/his balance. The child can then become afraid of falling and prefers to support herself/himself by putting her/his hands on the floor. Use toys, soap bubbles or balloons at a reasonable height and distance.
