Half-rolling
Good exercise with guidance in turning from the back to the side. The exercise is aimed at children from 7 years of age and upwards, but can also be used by younger individuals where turning to the side needs to be trained. For this exercise, toys are needed.
Description
Place the child lying on her/his back. Help the child to move one of her/his legs over the other leg in the direction that the child is going to turn. When the leg and hip have reached 90%, hold the leg still and let the child work to follow the turn with her/his arm and trunk. Wait for the movement when the child needs time. Use toys or things (depending on her/his age) that the child would like to have to make the exercises more motivating. If it is too difficult, give enough help so that the child manages to succeed in getting onto her/his side.
